We have passed the spring equinox, and are now heading for those lazy hazy days of summer – or so we hope ! This year, we have two special events to look forward to, the Olympic Games, and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. South Hill, like most of our surrounding parishes, is playing its part in making the jubilee bank holiday, on the 5th of June, a day to remember. Several organisations have come together to organise a ‘Picnic in the Park’ in the parish field and hall. There will be various activities and competitions, and a special presentation to all primary school children from the parish. More details will follow later, but the organisers are looking for volunteers to help on the day. If you would like to help , please contact Nick Easton on 01579 384770 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Spring is also the traditional time for cleaning up ready for summer, and the parish hall committee are having a ‘big clean’ to smarten up the parish hall ready for summer, and, of course, for that Diamond Jubilee Celebration in June. This will be on Saturday the 21st April starting at 2.00 pm. As always, volunteers are urgently need to help with this. Do come along and help make your parish hall spick and span again.
